Young America Music Schools is a full line music retail store with a special emphasis on music education. YAMS was founded in November of 1990 by Emmett Young, a Macon area musician and educator. We teach music to both music hobbyists and budding professionals of all ages.
We added a second building in 2006, which doubled our teaching space. We usually have over 200 students each week taking lessons at Young America Music – it’s a busy place!
YAMS has a full selection of instruments – band instruments, fretted instruments, stringed instruments, and a selection of keyboards and accessories of all types. We also carry an assortment of sheet music and instruction books for all levels and just about all music styles!
We offer a very competitive rent-to-own program with family-friendly features such as the ability to return the instrument at any point in the program and owe nothing more. You can also own the instrument in just a few short months, if you choose, or pay the balance due at any time with no penalty!
YAMS is a dealer for Deering Banjos, Blueridge Guitars, Weber Mandolins, as well as Roland, Boss, & Casio music gear. We also carry amplifiers, strings, band instruments, stringed instruments, mandolins, accessories of all types, books, stands, percussion supplies, music, and more than you really want to read about online!
Emmett has designed YAMS to be a family friendly place to learn music in an encouraging atmosphere. His mission is to inspire music in people young to old. Ages 8-80, it is NEVER too late to begin.
